This year, Good Divorce Week (29th Nov – 3rd Dec) will be offering free resources to separating and divorcing parents. With the added pressures of the pandemic, family relationships have come under more strain than ever, and many children are finding it difficult to cope with the separation process.
As a result of this, Resolution have published a free video and Parenting Through Separation Guide. The guide is full of practical advice, information and support to help parents consider their children’s needs during such a stressful time.
Founded in 1982, Resolution is a of group legal professionals who believe that a non-confrontational approach to family law issues produces better outcomes for separating families and their children.
The guide is designed to empower parents in their choice of how to work with an ex-partner to co-parent. Family breakdown brings a sense of loss and an uncertain future and learning to co-parent is a new journey during a traumatic time.
Along with specific points and questions to consider, the guide provides invaluable advice on good communication, listening and understanding the voice of the child, dealing with disputes, extended families, coming out of an abusive relationship and how to seek help when needed.
