Our Community Champions Winners 2022

We’re delighted to announce the winners of our recent mission to find and reward three unsung local heroes for our Community Champions project.

The project was initially launched during the first lockdown, to recognise local people who went above and beyond the call of duty in helping others in the community. Given the length of time that the impact of the pandemic has had on people’s lives, we decided to revive the project this spring as part of our 10th birthday celebrations.

We had over 30 nominations and have been humbled and moved to be part of a community that is so generous with its time and energy. While we would have liked to reward everyone nominated, we drew three names out of a hat to find the winners.

The three winners were Anne Lord, a volunteer at Haywards Heath Foodbank; Pippa Venturelli, a volunteer at St Peter & St James Hospice and Jo Clark, who was nominated for all her hard work and support at the Bentswood Hub. Congratulations to you all!

Each winner receives a £50 voucher for a local hospitality venue, which we hope will also serve to help local businesses too.
